What is the Digital Apprenticeship Service? (DAS)

In short, the Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS), also known as the Apprenticeship Service, is a free online service that helps employers manage their apprenticeships.

The Apprenticeship service is not our own system, but a government supported platform where all apprenticeship recruitment and funding can be managed.  You can give us permissions to do certain things for you, or you can choose to complete the full administration process yourselves, but either way this gives you as an employer an element of control and visibility for things which were previously handled centrally, and out of your sight.
Within the service, as an employer can:
  • Find and manage training providers
  • Access apprenticeship levy funds
  • Manage apprentice recruitment
  • Set up and approve apprentices
  • Advertise apprenticeship opportunities
  • Approve training costs
  • Receive financial incentives
  • Give feedback on apprenticeship training

You can find out more about the service via one of our employer support events, or by viewing the government guidance video below
