# Financial Support for Employers supporting Work Placement

## We know money isn't everything...

Work placements offer a valuable opportunity for both students and employers, bridging the gap between academic learning and practical experience. These placements allow students to apply their theoretical knowledge in real-world settings, enhancing their skills and employability. For employers, work placements provide access to fresh talent and innovative ideas, contributing to a dynamic workplace environment.

Engaging in work placements can also bring financial incentives. Employers may be eligible for grants, such as the [CITB Into Work Grant](https://businessplus.shcg.ac.uk/hubfs/CITB%20Into%20work%20Grant%20info.pdf?hsLang=en), which supports the integration of students into the workforce. This grant helps offset the costs associated with training and mentoring, making it a cost-effective way to develop a skilled workforce.

Moreover, work placements contribute to society benefits by fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. They help build a skilled workforce that meets industry demands, ultimately driving economic growth and innovation.

To participate in work placements, employers should [clarify needs with our Work Placements team](mailto:placements@shcg.ac.uk) to ensure we find you the best possible fit.  You will need to make sure you define clear roles and objectives for students, and provide mentorship and feedback throughout the placement in order for both you and the student to get the best out of the opportunity.
